Project: „The awareness campaign on importance and necessity of voluntary work“

From January 1st 2008 DESA has started with implementation of the project „The awareness campaign on importance and necessity of voluntary work“ in order to  sensitisize and motivate community for voluntary work, and promote  co-operation and public welfare.

Three schools ( Primary school Cavtat, Municipality Konavle, Primary school Smokovljani, Municipality Dubrovacko-primorje and Primary school Marin Getaldic, Dubrovnik), institutions of Dubrovnik-neretva county and the City of Dubrovnik, representatives of business sector and members of  organizations from civil sector, are included in project activities.

The objectives of the project:

• to sensitisize and motivate the community for voluntary work,
• to promote the values of voluntary work,
• to animate young population for voluntary work,
• to stimulate the voluntary work through educational system,
• to stimulate voluntary work in business sector,
• to promote  solidarity within community,
• to rise the civic responsibility,
• to initiate inter-sector co-operation aimed towards development of voluntary work in the community.

By the implementation of the project activities ( workshops, round tables, lectures, public speaker's platform) we shall contribute to the realization of the main objective of the project: to get the public acquainted with , especially younger population, the meaning of voluntary work, the ideas of voluntary actions, and stimulate them to get involved in.

COSPE, Firenza, Marche Region, The Ministry of foreign affairs, Republic of Italy: as a part of the project „Centre for responsible tourism of Adriatic Region“, which aim is to rise the awareness on ecology, cultural heritage, biodiversities and social issues, especially of a younger population.
