1998 - 2000 DESA Center enables the development of new activities

The long awaited move to the new premises has opened a new series of possibilities for DESA, which has become a recognized local institution. During their visits to Dubrovnik various personalities, interested in the work of local NGOs, visited DESA's premises and its gallery with unique handicrafts.

DESA Center became a popular venue for round tables and conferences. It has become a platform for promoting self-help and improvement and also for the presentation of new ideas and messages about democracy, human rights, ecology, environment and healthy living.

DESA continues organizing other kinds of events at the Center, such as Christmas fairs and art exhibitions. DESA's home offers itself as venue for various goodwill events.

DESA is led by a small nucleus of active members, who are constantly seeking to interpret the current needs of the local women, who are the beneficiaries of its programs, to whose needs they are periodically adjusted and modified.

DESA's work has been always closely monitored by the supporting institutions, because all that DESA has done so far from 1993 to the present day has been made possible by the support of many organizations and individuals in Croatia and in the rest of the world.
