1995: DESA introduces first occupational training courses
In
the summer of '94 DESA organized its first course in weaving
and more occupational training courses in sewing. Weaving
and knitting were to follow in 1995. At this point DESA
did not yet have a gathering place for women, for therapeutic
purposes. Now DESA was offering opportunities for self-improvement,
a chance for the women to learn something new and useful
to them.
DESA received help but gave help to others, as well.
During 1995 DESA participated in a humanitarian aid convoy
to Sarajevo and received numerous recognitions for the help
it offered to people and organizations in need, such as
the Government office for displaced persons and refugees,
the Bosnian Town of Zepce for the donation of gynecological
equipment, the local branch of the Society of cerebral paralysis
for its financial support, and others.
