ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN TOURISM
A manual for beginner entrepreneurs that helps elucidate
the various economic components needed to be successful
in the Tourist Industry in Dubrovnik - Neretva county.
This manual can serve as a useful source of information
for any individual who hopes to undergo their own entrepreneurial
endeavors. However, we feel that this manual will be particularly
useful to the women living in Dubrovnik-Neretva county.
DESA has focused its energies on motivating local women
to realize their own abilities and potential in the Tourist
industry and we feel that this manual is an important step
in promoting local entrepreneurship.
The manual is made up of three major parts:
- an overview of the Tourist Industry and basic facts
about marketing possibilities for small-scale entrepreneurs.
- a section aimed at stimulating women to think about
entrepreneurship and examples of entrepreneurship development
possibilities and resources in Dubrovnik - Neretva County
- a presentation of regulation issues related to tourism
and useful references for starting up a business.
This manual was published with financial help from the
Croatian Government Office for NGOs and the Croatian Ministry
for crafts, small and middle entrepreneurship. We would
like to thank "The STAR Network of World Learning",
who financed the "Women's Entrepreneurship in Tourism"
workshop that provided the majority of information for this
manual.
