Held in DESA's
premises and offered participation to 10 representatives
of NGOs from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Croatia.
Seminar offered training in values, norms and institutions
of civil society, alongside with the historical overview
of the development of civil society in Southeastern Europe
and its potentials in the processes of economic and political
transition.
In presentations and working discussions special attention
was given to promotion of women's rights regarding education
and economic empowerment as well as protection for women-refugees
and displaced persons. Women's organizations participating
in the work of this seminar have reached new levels of understanding
of their mission in the post-war period.
The work of this seminar has been co-sponsored by Ecumenical
Women's Solidarity Fund, Omi, Croatia, OSCE - Croatia
and CCFD, Paris, France.
